First working experience in my life
It has been one month plus since I started working in the nursery.
TO sum it all,it is a great experience and each day,I feel proud of myself as I know that I am playing an important role in building the good characters in the kids.Also,I realise that I have to thank all the teachers I have met in my life,whether in nursery,superkids,primary school and also secondary school.Teachers are really awesome!They do not only fill you with knowledge but also help building good personalities in you.It is not easy at all to lead a class of 40++ students with different standards of intelligence.My class,I have only 12 kids and it has already make me do a lot of thinking,just to figure out how to help the one or two slow learning kids.
Plenty of my time at home and even on bed are used to think about the interesting way to teach.I prepare some hand-made teaching aids and colour them,bought stickers,think about ways to get their attention and all.Kids are very cute,they get attracted by new things.Keep doing the same thing or reading the same word will make them losing their focus and start looking here and there or playing with their shirts when you are teaching.Stickers are useful,they like your lessons for it.Not only that,stickers also make you win their attention and hard work.
Well,from the time I had with them,I can see that,parenting plays an important role in making you who you are in your future life as I have now.My parents have done great job.During my school life,I listened when teachers talk to me,I paid attention during my lessons,I did not cry and shout just to get the things I want.I did not shout make a scene in public just because my parents leave.And,they did not beat me or scold me for that.I have forgotten how my parents manage to do it,but I am impressed by the work they did.However,with brother,things are a bit different,possibly because Mom was not as firm with him,he shouted and cried out loud when Mom left his sight.Anyway,Dad kinda be the Bad Man and help disciplined brother up.But trust me,it wasn't about the beatings and all.Perhaps,advising,motivating and reasoning.Oh God!I love my dear parents.^^
In Noah's land nursery,some kids,have to be caned by parents each day,before getting out from the car reluctantly.However,the next few minutes,you will see them running around.Then,some,they cried whenever they did not get what they want or they did not know how to do their work.Their parents,who seem to be working in the office or anything else,simply throw the job to us,teachers."Help me to train him,at home also he is like that,we really did not know what to do with him."is what we always hear.LOL.They are the one who spent so much time with them,compared to the 5 to 6 hours we had with them.><For some kids,I kinda sympathize them,they brought their dirty clothes they wore on the previous day again and again until we told their parents to change.><How could this happen,don't they check their kid's bag everyday.><
Anyway,some parents are nice.You can see it from their kids,like Co Ying,Angela,Jia Yong and so on,*I only refer to those in my class*,they show very good behaviour and listen to instruction before doing something.And also Ryan,the one i do reading with,he has finished her 1a Peter and Jane book,and so he gets a key chain.The next day,her mother confirm with me that I gave it to him.She is scared he steal it or what.This is the parents who cared for their kids character.^^
About eating habit,which Brother and I have never had,some kids like to keep the food in their mouth cavity,without chewing it or swallowing it.And Mrs Chua told us,some parents thank us for training their kids to eat rice.They do not eat at home because their parents could not or do not have enough time to deal with them.LOL.Again,sick of this attitude.I believe it,"You are the reason whom your kids are today."Samuel,he doesn't eat solid food until he was 5!LOL.5 years of milk,I doubt can a kid grow well like this?!
Back to the job,I am glad I work there,though it means sacrificing the time with my dear.It is because I found out how great are my parents and also I respected my teachers more and more,including the teachers in secondary school whom did not do a good job.I believe God arrange this to make me change my attitude.Even though some teachers are not doing a good job,still they teach us some good values.Because of them,we are more independent and discipline.For instance,because of the little work in school,we will find good tuition or organising a small study group with friends to help each other,and do more exercise on our own.Then,through working,I understand how disciplined and dedicated I am.*Blushed*True,I did not bluff or steal some time to rest when I should not.And I am honest with Mrs Chua when I face problems cause I am scared a moment of lingering will affect my kids.Also,I get to spend time with more adults like Mrs Chua,Aunty Loh,Mrs Chao.They knew I accepted Christ and are willing to share with me their experience and advice.As Mrs Chao's family are not Christians.I love talking to them,or more accurately,listening to them.It makes me grow and learn.
I mature a lot after working.Dealing with complains,which I would rather call it feedback.At first,I was a bit tensed and upset but after talking to dear and parents,I understand that it is what I would face in life.And people do not care you are new or not.They expect you to be as good as the company take you.I am lucky,to have a good Boss like Mrs Chua now,who always stand up for me and never blame me and give me lots of help.
Things are getting better and better in the nursery.I am handling my life really well now.Also,I enjoy the pleasure of knowing how important is myself.^^
