My Cooking Diary

I have been cooking since day one of working @ Oasis Place. It used to be better when Emma and I took turns to cook. Right now she's on a rice-free diet, somehow, we stopped cooking together or taking turns to cook for work (except for special occasions like soups and steamed fish). Anyway, the cooking mood came after watering my basils this evening before my Home Fellowship, hence, decided to cook sth more fancy than boiled vege and rice.

Here's my masterpiece:

Macaroni, fried vege with ginger and carrot, scrambled eggs with basil and some potato fries. Seems like tomorrow I am gonna really enjoy my lunch. Oh ya, packed a small portion for dinner tomorrow too. Awesome isn't it?

Since I've started on this cooking diary thingy, lemme just show off some of my other masterpiece this week:

My Teoh Chew steamed fish, so good I cry. Recipe: my fav kinda fish, tomatoes (a lot), ginger (also generous amount please), chilli (cut a line on the skin so that the taste can 'come out'), dried mushroom, soy bean, water. Add a lil bit of lime or lemon juice before serving. Delicious AF!

Herbal chicken soup. Recipe: whatever kinds of herbs you can find at home, chicken, water and a pinch of salt. It's so far my favourite kinda home cook soup for now (because I have not really tried many different kinds to choose).

Potato soup. My brother's favourite. It wasn't too hard too. Not my fav kind but it's easy cause you have lots of different ingredients in one pot and hence, you don't need other dishes anymore.
Recipe: Generous amount of potatoes, some carrots, chicken, black fungus (according to preference), old ginger (I usually put many slices cause it gives a nice fragrance), different kinds of mushrooms, pepper (crush them before putting them in the soup), water and of course a punch of salt.
Brother commented that it ain't salty enough but for me it was okay weyyyy!

Asam soup. Sometimes I really do have huge cravings for food like this. This doesn't really need skills, basically the recipe is just: water, asam paste, mushroom powder (so called vegetarian MSG), tomatoes, carrots and whatever kinds of things you wanna add in. Serve it with noodles or rice. There, cravings solved.

Enough show off of my cooking diary, will share more next time. So far I'm quite pleased with my skills. It proves one thing you know, which is, I can cook if I want to, it is just a matter of whether I want to do it or not. Haha.

Tiff.
Who says girls nowadays can't cook!
:D
