Is friendship the most valuable thing in life?

Should we give our helping hands to strangers?We are taught to be kind towards the needy and it helps to build a nice and caring society,which is full of love.However,there are certain wicked ones,who take advantage on people's kindness.They turn out to be bad guy,hurting the kind people who helped them.

Just now,I read about this from the newspaper.A driver,accidentally knocked down an Indian,who out of the blue,ran out from the bushes.His friends appeared and asked for the driver's help to sent him out.The sorry driver agreed.But, guess what!The Indian and his friends turned out to be robbers.

It is really disheartening!Such incident will surely break his heart.I bet he will not offer his help easily in the future.Lately,public starts to question about the need of giving our helps to strangers.I heard a parent beside me telling his teenage daughter, not to get out from her car when she accidentally knock down someone,but to drive straight away to the police station.We could not blame her,as she just wants to protect her daughter,but,what if the injured victim need immediate help like CPR?He might succumbed to his injuries.

I believe that if such incident keeps happening in our society,our government's effort in creating a "masyarakat penyayang" will met with little success.Worse off, the good qualities which have been performed since our grandparents' age will soon vanish.Oh,well,I can foresee a cold-hearted world,full of selfish beings,awaiting for our future generation...
Something I read days ago crossed my mind.

⁴⁴ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, ⁴⁵that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. ⁴⁶ If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? ⁴⁷ And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? ⁴⁸ Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.(Matthew 5:44-48)

Jesus told us to love our enemies and those who persecute us.When we are badly treated,we should forgive them and pray for them.We should also pray that God will forgive them and will make them to be at peace with us.It is not right to ill-treat those who did that to us,instead we should still treat them kindly and talk to them in friendly manners.If we did to them what they've done,then,aren't we the same as those wicked ones? Therefore,we must be better than them,aim to be more perfect.I believe that,we should not stop doing kind deeds or give our helps to the needy ones because of some wicked ones who take advantage of our kindness. We should forgive them and do good to them as well as the others.For it is said, And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?
