2 books I read in the past 2 days & BACK IN HOSTEL
This post comes a bit late. I was back in hostel last night. Again, the first night was as upsetting as usual. Did lots of cleaning, including moping the floor using a cloth(like cinderella). But Cinderella definitely did her job way better than I did. I got a bruised knee cause I knelt too hard on the floor a few times accidentally. Oh ya, I also did some changes to my book shelves arrangement and "mini-pantry" arrangement. My room looked extremely tidy now, only I hope that this tidiness can last long enough. *Finger Crossed*
Speaking about coming back, my past two days were spent very wisely(I think). I spent two whole days, swallowing up two novels----"The Women He Loved Before" by Dorothy Koomson and "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult. Yes, my two most favourite authors.
Dorothy Koomson, I proudly say I have almost every novel written by her. "My Best Friend's Girl", "Marshmallow for Breakfast" , "The Woman He Loved Before" and "The Ice Cream Girls". I knew I have not gotten the other two books yet, but I am sure, I will run into the two of them one day as well. So, "The Woman He Loved Before" was the book I read this time. I would not want to read it again, partly because there're some uncomfortable part about the deceased Ex Wife's(EVE) old life. But, the main reason is that I find this book quite 'heavy' for me to handle, emotionally.. She is a good writer, she got me putting myself in the current wife's(LIBERTY) shoe during her way to find out more about Eve's sad life. I cried a bit and felt really bad after finishing Eve's diary, just like how Libby(Liberty) felt. I also felt for Jack(the husband) for everything he has to go through. She is really a good writer, every line in the novel brings my heart along with it. The story just kind of dragged me in while reading. I found myself too deeply engrossed into the story and missed a lot of things my parents were talking about while reading this book. This book was very different from the previous books I read--"My Best Friend's Girl"and "Marshmallow for Breakfast". The two of them are more...lively and my heart does not feel burdened reading it. They are very touching, sweet and warm-heartening pieces to read. Anyway, in all, she is really good in bringing the readers into the story with her skilful writing. :)
Jodi Picoult. I do not remember how many of her books that I have collected. My favourite novelist! "Harvesting the Heart" was my first novel from her. (Recall all the tissues I used up for this book!!) Since then, I got so crazy about her and try to buy every book I saw from her, even that means I have to cut down some of my other budget. Thankfully, I have a great Dad, who loves me and understands me so well to offer paying for me most of the time. :D She is another superb author, that is so....(struggling for a suitable description). She is so detailed and precise and informative about every profession of characters..(She really gathered lots of information for all the characters she created!) She understands so well about each character she created and she really stands in each of their shoe to write from their point of view. Sensitive maybe? All those description about their internal feelings, their monologues and the different perspectives of different characters about a certain incidents.... I mean, how could one doesn't like her books!? I really really LOVE her!!! SHE IS AWESOME! **I cry every time I read her books** Like seriously! I do!
So, yea, new semester starts now and I would and must put a lot more effort on my CGPA! I am this close to my first honour pointer. I think I can work on it! :P
Tiff.
Good night world.
Love ya!
